What to expect during a day at camp!
While every day at Camp Downer is unique, here is the basic schedule for camp:
7:30 – Reveille
Rise and shine, campers. It is another beautiful day at Downer!
7:45 – Flag Raising
The entire camp gathers around the flag pole to raise the United States and Camp Downer flags.
8:00 – Breakfast
Campers sit with their Animal Group which is made up of campers from all age groups throughout camp.
8:30 – Cabin Clean-Up & Village Time
Campers tidy up their cabin in order to win the coveted “Cabin of the Day” award. When that is done they have a little time to spend in their village with friends.
9:00 – First Period Program
This is the first of four programs that the camper signed up for at the beginning of the week. See the Programs page to learn more about what is offered during this time.
10:00 – Second Period Program

11:00 – First Free Time
Campers are able to choose one activity from a wide variety of options. Some of the activities are only available during Free Time and not offered as regular programs. This gives campers an opportunity to experience something that they might not have signed up for at the beginning of the week.
12:00 – Wash For Lunch & Village Time
Back to their villages to clean up after the morning activities and spend a little time with their cabin mates.
12:30 – Lunch

All care packages will be called out following lunch, and campers with packages will be called by name to pick up their package.
1:15 – Rest Hour
Rest Hour is just that, a time to rest in your cabin. It is also a great time to write a letter home, take a power nap, or play a quiet game with your cabinmates.
1:45 – Store
Each camper’s store order for the day is delivered during Rest Hour for them to enjoy. The camper store is included with your campers’ tuition and will consist of two store items daily.

7:00 – Evening Activity (or as we call it, EAC!)
This is the favorite part of the day for many campers. Each night a unique activity is planned by the staff that brings the whole camp together for a fun event. On the last night of camp, a large bonfire is constructed near the pond for a truly unforgettable evening where fond memories are formed that will last a lifetime.
8:30 – Songs And Skits
Everyone participates in singing camp songs and the staff perform hilarious skits.
8:45 – Friendship Circle
Everyone gathers in Main Camp, crosses arms, and forms a circle as the last light of day gives way to night. It is a wonderful way for the whole camp to get together one last time before they go to sleep.
9:00 – Taps
Lights out with everyone sleeping happily in their cabins.
