Camper Ages:
One-Week Sessions: Campers must be at least 8 years old and at most 16 years old at the beginning of the session.
Two-Week Session: Campers must be at least 11 years old and at most 16 years old at the beginning of the session.
Rates and Tiered Pricing
The 2026 Tiered Rate Structure
At Camp Downer, we are committed to ensuring that all kids can experience the friendships, community, and traditions that attending Camp Downer offers. Our mission as an organization is to make overnight summer camp affordable for all families. To that end, we are offering a voluntary tiered rate system and expanding our scholarship program. By choosing to pay a slightly higher rate, families can help us keep the overall cost of attending camp low. Paying a higher rate is voluntary, confidential, and in no way influences the experience the campers receive, yet offers the opportunity for families to take an active role in supporting the true cost of their child’s camp experience.
During registration, you will be asked to choose one of the following rates.
Tier A
This tier most accurately reflects the financial needs of Camp Downer, including growth and long-term depreciation. If every family chose this rate, our organization would be able to plan for capital expenses, stabilize our financial future, and fully cover our operating costs such as food, activity supplies, and direct staffing.
One-week session: $780
Two-week session: $1540
Tier B
This tier most accurately accounts for Camp Downer’s actual yearly operating costs (i.e. breaking even) described above and funds salaries for program specialists, support staff, ongoing maintenance costs, and depreciation.
One-week session: $670
Two-week session: $1430
Tier C
Our typical low-rate rate remains available so that as many families as possible can attend Camp Downer. Although this rate does not accurately reflect the true cost of attending camp, it fulfills our mission to make overnight summer camp accessible to more families.
One-week session: $560
Two-week session: $1320
Tier D
Partial and full scholarships are available. The updated scholarship application will be shared during the first week of January and is due no later than January 21st, 2026.
Scholarships
Families are eligible for a full scholarship if their income is at or below 150% of the federal poverty guidelines or a half scholarship if their income is at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines. Campers who are given a scholarship will be pre-registered for the session they choose and will not need to enter general registration on February 7th.
The updated scholarship application will be shared during the first week of January and is due no later than January 21st, 2026.

Check-In and Check-Out
2026 Check-In and Check-Out Times and Procedures:
Our check-in times are between 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm on Sunday of each session and our check-out times are between 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm on Friday of each session. Check-in and check-out times are staggered by half-hour time slots organized by campers’ last names. This summer, the check-in and check-out schedule is to be as follows:
If a camper is checking in with another camper’s family or if there are multiple last names within the same family, you are welcome to check the campers in together during the time slot that works best for you. The same flexibility applies during check-out. However, please ensure you review our Camper Release Verification and Authorized Check-Out Policy below to ensure a smooth process.
Check-In Procedures:
During camper check-in, all vehicles are greeted in main camp by designated staff members to check campers in. During this check-in process:
Camp staff will conduct a health screening consisting of a questionnaire about recent health symptoms and confirmation that all information on the camper’s health form is accurate and up-to-date.
The staff member will then share the camper’s cabin and animal group. Parent(s)/guardian(s) will then be directed to park in the main parking lot.
Once parked, parent(s)/guardian(s) will walk with their camper to the T-shirt station, where the camper will get their Camp Downer Complimentary T-Shirt. Please keep in mind that campers will receive T-shirts in the sizes that were listed for them on the Complimentary Camp Downer T-Shirt Form during registration. All T-shirts are in adult sizes.
Once the camper has their Camp Downer Complimentary T-Shirt, parent(s)/guardian(s) will walk with their camper to the head lice screening station to be screened for head lice.
Once the camper has been screened for head lice, parent(s)/guardian(s) will be able to walk with their campers to their cabins.
Medication Collection Process: Campers with any type of medication (prescription or over-the-counter) will make a stop at the Healthcare Station with their parent(s)/guardian(s) before heading to their cabin. Here our healthcare staff will take and organize camper medication and create a plan with the camper and their parent(s)/guardian(s) about a medication administration schedule. The healthcare staff will follow prescription directions, or over-the-counter administration guidelines during this process.
Camper Release Verification and Authorized Check-Out Policy
Campers must be picked up by their parent(s)/guardian(s) that are listed on their CampBrain account. If a camper needs to be released to an adult other than their parent(s)/guardian(s), the parent(s)/guardian(s) must add the adult to the Authorized Check-Out Adult section of the Household Form on CampBrain or they may email the registrar using their email address listed on CampBrain. Camp staff will ID individuals during check-out to ensure that campers are released to parents/guardians or authorized adults.
