Amy's back for her 8th year on staff and 20th year as a part of the Downer Family! Growing up attending Camp Downer as a kid and working here as a counselor and program head launched Amy into a decade long career of outdoor recreation and education management. She is from Montpelier, VT originally, but after getting her bachelors in Environmental Science at Boston University she found herself traveling the country leading environmental education and camp programs in Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, Colorado, Texas, and North Carolina. She's sampled all the flavors of camp but none are quite like Downer. Fond memories of teaching ODL, facilitating the Leadership Development Programs (CIT I, CIT II, and Staff Aide), Downer dances, rainy rec hall days, and nights spent looking up at the stars and the campfire sparks drifting into the sky always keep her heart closely invested in the growth and success of Downer. With a proven successful track record in camp administration, Amy is eager and excited to work with campers and their families to get signed up for camp and is always happy to chat more about camp! Amy primarily works remotely from her home in Wilmington, North Carolina with her dog, Benny. She hopes to be able to spend a lot of time at camp this summer.
