Rules and Guidelines:

• Only one design submission per contestant is allowed. 

• All designs must be original creations of the contestant, and incorporate all of the required design components outlined below. Submissions must not have been previously published and must not contain profanity, trademarks, other organization's logos, or any copyrighted works of any other person or business.

• Designs must be submitted on the Camp Downer Camper Designed T-Shirt Contest Submission Form by a parent/guardian on the camper’s behalf using the parent/guardian’s email address listed on their CampBrain account. Submissions are due by 11:59 pm (EST) on Friday, May 10th, 2024.

• Designs must be submitted as a high-resolution (between 200 and 300 DPI) JPG or PNG file, up to 1 GB. 

• The winning designer (and their parent/guardian) agrees to sign a waiver allowing Camp Downer the use of their design, free of charge, for any and all printing and promotional purposes.

• The winning designer understands that Camp Downer may make slight changes/modifications if they are necessary for production.

Required Design Components:

• Theme: Designs must be created with Camp Downer’s mission and values in mind. Optional phrases or imagery to inspire designs:

• Camp Downer’s mission is to provide a positive and affordable camping experience for youth in a safe,  constructive, and welcoming environment.

• Colors: The winning design can use any colors in the sRGB color profile. We will assume white on a design means transparency, meaning anything that is white on a design will end up being an area with no print on it.

• Print Size: The maximum print area on a T-shirt is 12” wide and 16” tall. Please keep these dimensions in mind when designing.

• Design File Size: The final design must be between 200 and 300 DPI and be in JPG or PNG format.

• Suggested Design Software: Designs can be created in any digital software such as Adobe, Canva, or CorelDRAW. The design may also be drawn by hand and other design options can be used as long as a high-resolution JPG or PNG image can be produced.

How the Winner is Selected:

• All entries will be evaluated by an internal panel of judges made up of our 2024 Camp Downer Staff and Camp Downer Board of Trustees.

• Entries will be reviewed for:

• Concept and originality of design

• Visibility from a reasonable distance

• Adherence to design and submission rules and guidelines

• Successfully capturing the spirit, mission, and values of Camp Downer

• Totality of design and production readiness

• Upon final review, the top three designs will be presented for a public vote from the community (limit of one vote per person). Votes must be submitted by 11:59pm (EST) on May 17th, 2024. If a tiebreaker is required, the Camp Downer judges will cast the final vote.

Timeline:

• Friday, April 12th - Friday, May 10th: Submissions open

• Friday, May 10th: Submissions due

• Monday, May 13th - Thursday, May 16th: Camp Downer Staff and Board of Trustees voting

• Friday, May 17th: Community voting on top three choices 

• Late May: Design winner announced!

• Early June: Camper Designed T-shirt available on the Camp Downer Store!
