James Thompson, Assistant Director
He/Him/His
James is incredibly excited for his first year at Camp Downer. With 25 years of experience at summer camps, day camps, and before and after school care centers, he absolutely loves working with youth. Some of the activities he's taught include archery, canoeing, windsurfing, kayaking, microelectronics, video production, science of camp, camp radio, and photography, and he designed a spy program for Connecticut Gifted Children's Association. One of James’ favorite activities was helping the 15-year-olds design, build, and run a haunted house. When not working with children, James finds himself producing broadcasts for the International Monetary Fund and has had roles directing documentaries and camera work on commercials and reality series. Most of all, James loves to travel and spend a large part of the year visiting friends all over the world.
