Joe is thrilled to return to the woods as this year’s Program Director. After nine summers as a camper and three as a counselor, he’s excited to be back to help make the summer meaningful and exhilarating. With a degree in environmental studies and a background in early education, Joe brings with him a love of nature, music, and outdoor games. A few summers ago he hiked the Long Trail with some Downer family, and he’s excited to share some of that VT knowledge with campers this summer. During the year, Joe lives in NYC and works as a freelance journalist—but right now, he’s mostly hoping to spot an ovenbird or an owl in the Downer Woods.
